Benfica striker Darwin Nunez is on the radar of German Bundesliga teams according to a report from fussball transfers. It was reported that the German top flight duo of Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen are monitoring the situation of the Uruguayan international striker at Portuguese giants Benfica.
Nunez, 22, has been attracting interest from bothBayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich for some time as reported by the aforementioned publication. The Benfica star is in hot demand and both Bayern and Leverkusen have already made an inquiry on the player.
Leverkusen and Bayern were informed that it would take a lot of money to sign Nunez from Benfica. A move away from the Portuguese was never on for Uruguayan striker Nunez during this summer’s transfer window which ended last week as his signing required a big transfer fee. However, things could change in the coming transfer windows.
Apart from the German Bundesliga, Nunez has also been linked with a move to the Premier League with Arsenal said to be interested in the player. The Gunners are set to be in the transfer market for a new striker next summer.
Arsenal are expected to sign a replacement for Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette next summer and Benficaattacker Nunez could be one of the names on their radar if he has not left the Portuguese club. Lacazette has less than one year left on his existing Gunners deal at the moment and he’s almost certain to leave the North London outfit on a free transfer next summer.
Apart from Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion is another Premier League team who have been linked with a move for Nunez. Clubs in the Italian Serie A are also keen on signing him.
Nunez has impressed for Benfica over the past year. He had an output of 14 goals plus 12 assists in 44 games in all competitions last season for the Portuguese club.
